Sarah Lynn is a Licensed Clinical Social Worker with extra certifications in treating trauma and addiction. She has always worked in direct clinical care, beginning as a Music Therapist in 2000 and becoming a Social Worker in 2004. Sarah Lynn has extensive experience working with substance abuse and addictions, the military population, complex trauma, anxiety, and relationship issues.
Her approach to therapy begins with establishing safety within the relationship so the client feels seen and mutual goals can be identified. Sarah Lynn’s clients will often hear her talk about the mind-body-spirit connection as she utilizes evidence-based treatment modalities to treat the whole person. Clients are given tools and resources to use between sessions to manage dysregulation, as most traumatic experiences are stored in the body and nervous system, beyond conscious thought. Brain-based therapies such as EMDR and Brainspotting are effective at yielding positive lasting results. EMDR (Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing) is an effective treatment for trauma, depression, addiction, OCD, and low self-worth. Sarah Lynn also utilizes Motivational Interviewing, Mindfulness, Dialectical Behavior Therapy, and Ego State Therapy in her practice.
She believes that therapy is a team effort and that there is no “one size fits all” treatment. All it takes is for one to be honest, open-minded, and willing!
